Meet Patrick Sean Everett

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful PATRICK SEAN EVERETT. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with PATRICK SEAN below.

PATRICK SEAN, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client?

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve given a client was to wait.

I had a buyer who found a home they really liked that had just come on the market. They were excited about it and wanted to move quickly, but after looking at the pricing and the current market, I felt there was no reason to rush. I told them, “Let’s give it a little time and see what happens.”

They trusted me, and we waited. Sure enough, the home sat on the market and the seller eventually reduced the price. That gave my client a much better opportunity to negotiate, and they were ultimately able to purchase the home for less than the original asking price.

It was a great reminder that you don’t always have to be the first person to make an offer. Sometimes patience can be one of your strongest negotiating tools.

At the same time, I always remind my clients that ultimately, the decision is theirs to make. My job is to give them the information, explain what I’m seeing in the Denver real estate market, provide my professional opinion, and make sure they understand their options. I never want a client to feel pressured into making a decision simply because I think they should.

That’s something I try to bring to every transaction as a Denver, Colorado real estate agent. My job isn’t just to help clients find a home and write an offer. It’s to understand the market, recognize opportunities, negotiate strategically, and give my clients honest advice while allowing them to make the final decision.

For me, a successful transaction isn’t about getting a deal done as quickly as possible. It’s about helping my clients make smart, informed decisions and ultimately feel confident that they made the right one.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

I’m Patrick Sean Everett, Team Leader of The Patrick Sean Everett Team, brokered by eXp Realty, serving Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and communities throughout Colorado. My approach to real estate is pretty simple: Every Deal is a Big Deal. Whether I’m helping someone buy their first home, sell a longtime property, relocate to Colorado, or navigate a complicated transaction, I believe every client deserves the same level of attention, honesty, and professionalism.

My path to real estate wasn’t exactly traditional. Before becoming a real estate professional, I owned and operated corporate meeting and event spaces in New York City and Chicago. That experience taught me a tremendous amount about business, negotiation, customer service, marketing, and, most importantly, people. I learned how to listen to what someone actually needs, solve problems quickly, manage complicated situations, and create an experience that people remember for the right reasons.

When I eventually moved to Colorado, real estate became the natural next chapter for me. I loved the idea of combining my business background with something much more personal: helping people make one of the biggest financial and lifestyle decisions of their lives.

Today, I help buyers and sellers throughout Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and surrounding Colorado communities navigate the real estate process from beginning to end. For buyers, that can mean everything from identifying the right neighborhood and property to analyzing value, structuring an offer, negotiating terms, navigating inspections and contracts, and getting all the way to the closing table. For sellers, I focus on preparing the property for the market, developing a strong pricing and marketing strategy, creating exposure across the major platforms, negotiating offers, and helping them make smart decisions throughout the transaction.

But I think what I really provide is perspective.

Buying or selling a home can be emotional. It can also be confusing, especially with changing interest rates, shifting inventory, evolving contracts, inspections, negotiations, and all of the other details that come with a Colorado real estate transaction. My job is to take the complicated parts and make them easier to understand. I want my clients to know what is happening, why it matters, what their options are, and what I would consider if I were in their position.

I also believe strongly that my job is to advise, not pressure. I will absolutely give my clients my honest professional opinion, even if that means telling a buyer to wait or telling a seller that I think their price is too high. Ultimately, however, the decision is theirs to make. I want my clients to feel educated and confident rather than pushed into a decision because someone is trying to get a transaction closed.

That philosophy has become a huge part of my brand. Real estate is not just about houses. It is about people, relationships, timing, money, and major life decisions. Sometimes the best thing I can do for a client is negotiate aggressively. Sometimes it is telling them to slow down. Sometimes it is helping them see an opportunity they hadn’t considered. And sometimes it is simply being the person who answers the phone when something unexpected happens.

I’m particularly proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients and the reputation I’ve developed in the Colorado real estate market. I want people to know that when they work with me, they are getting someone who genuinely cares about the outcome, not just someone who wants to close a transaction.

I also bring a different perspective to my work because of my background, my personality, and the communities I serve. I’m proud to be part of the Colorado real estate community and to be an LGBTQ real estate professional who believes everyone should feel welcome and represented when buying or selling a home. My goal is to create an experience where clients feel comfortable being completely honest about what they want, what they can afford, what concerns them, and what matters most to them.

Ultimately, I want potential clients to know three things about me.

First, I’m going to tell you the truth. Even when it isn’t necessarily what you want to hear.

Second, I’m going to fight for you. Whether that means negotiating price, terms, repairs, deadlines, or navigating an unexpected problem, I take my clients’ interests seriously.

And third, I’m going to treat your transaction like it matters. Because it does.

That is really the meaning behind my team’s motto, “Every Deal is a Big Deal.” Whether the transaction is a $300,000 condo or a multimillion dollar property, it represents someone’s money, future, and often a major life change. I never want a client to feel like they are just another transaction.

My goal is to continue building a real estate business in Denver and throughout Colorado that is known for honest advice, strong negotiation, exceptional service, and genuine relationships. If someone walks away from working with me feeling like they were heard, protected, educated, and well represented, then I consider that a successful transaction.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I think my reputation has been built one client and one relationship at a time.

Real estate is a relationship business, and I’ve always believed that how you treat people during a transaction matters just as much as the result. Buying or selling a home can be stressful, emotional, and complicated, so I try to be the person my clients know they can count on to give them honest answers, communicate consistently, and be there when something unexpected comes up.

A big part of building my reputation in the Denver real estate market has also been my willingness to tell clients what I genuinely think, rather than simply telling them what they want to hear. Sometimes that means encouraging a buyer to wait. Sometimes it means telling a seller we need to adjust the price. Sometimes it means walking away from a deal that doesn’t make sense. I think people remember when their real estate agent is willing to put their interests ahead of making a commission.

My previous background in business and hospitality also played a huge role. Before real estate, I owned and operated corporate meeting and event spaces in New York City and Chicago. I learned how important customer service, communication, organization, negotiation, and follow through are. Those skills translated incredibly well into real estate.

I’m also proud of the referrals and repeat relationships that have come from simply doing what I say I’m going to do. My goal isn’t to have a client for one transaction. I want to build relationships that last long after the closing table.

Serving Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and the surrounding Colorado communities has allowed me to build a reputation around being approachable, knowledgeable, honest, and willing to work hard for my clients. I don’t take that reputation for granted. In a business where anyone can call themselves a real estate agent, I think the difference is what your clients say about you when you’re not in the room.

For me, reputation isn’t something you create through advertising. It’s something you earn through thousands of small interactions, decisions, phone calls, negotiations, and promises kept. That is what I try to do every day, and it’s a big reason behind our philosophy: Every Deal is a Big Deal.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

Without a doubt, referrals have been the best source of new clients for me.

I’m incredibly grateful when a past client, friend, or someone in my professional network recommends me to someone they know. To me, that is the ultimate compliment because it means they trusted me enough to put my name and reputation behind their recommendation.

A lot of my business in Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and throughout Colorado has grown through those personal connections. Real estate is such a personal business, and I think people want to work with someone they can trust. When a past client says, “You need to call Patrick,” that means far more to me than any advertisement ever could.

My goal with every client is to provide the kind of experience that makes them comfortable referring me to someone they care about. If I do a great job for you, hopefully you’ll remember me when a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor needs a real estate agent.

That word of mouth has been incredibly important to building my business and my reputation, and I never take a referral for granted.
